The Masks

Brain Injury: Brain Cancer- 4 tumors in brain, 100’s in spinal column.  Extensive treatment: 30 round craniospinal radiation and 4 rounds of chemotherapy with 3 types of chemo.  I have short term memory loss, etc.

Explanation of Mask: The holes are for the missing memory and short term memory.  The smile is who I am.  Loving, hopeful, and determined as the result from my fight with Cancer.  The tear is sadness from the loss of normality and the success of my pre-cancer life.  The triangle signifies change since I am continually adapting to the repercussions of cancer treatment.  The colors are just because.  I deny the ability of frustration, anger, and pain to have control over ME.
