Brain Injury: Multiple Concussions and Mini Stroke

1. Kicked in the face by a cow

2. Hit by a motorcycle

3. Hit in the head by a beer can during a party

4. T-Boned at Kastle-Karts go-kart track

5. I was getting firewood for our outdoor furnace, and a chunk of wood fell, breaking my nose. This concussion caused a small stroke two weeks later.

Explanation of Mask: My top left section is my “FAKE-IT-TIL-YOU- MAKE-IT” mode. Trying to put on a “Happy” front for others, even if I’m in the middle of a migraine. The top right section is a more realistic view in my head. Sad, lonely, and completely messed up. 24/7 pain, tinnitus, and not knowing anyone else like me. The bottom left is what I strive to remain thankful for: my family, my flock of chickens, and my life. The bottom right is a depiction of me constantly feeling stuck in the “Fight or Flight” mode. Anxiety is always a bothersome issue
