Brain Injury:  Concussion

Explanation of Mask: My name is Elizabeth, and I am an  individual who sustained a concussion over a year ago. I fell down concrete steps and while I tried to brace myself, I broke my arm and hit my head. I did not lose consciousness, and was able to recall the cognitive questions the EMTs asked me when they arrived. After the fall, I wasn’t able to return to work right away due to the injury. Word finding and confusion still plague me to this day. The left side of the mask represents the mask I must wear every day, lying showing I am fine. The right side of the mask shows how the injury has affected me both cognitively and emotionally.
